Indi & Co owner Michelle Jones says she is looking forward to building a solid client base and meeting new people on the Surf Coast.

Michelle, a hairdresser with 23 years’ experience, runs a home-based salon in Torquay.

“I love the evolution of the industry and the ever changing trends,” Michelle said.

“Creating opportunities, travel, meeting new people, flexibility, friendships, socialising, fashion and art.”

At the age of 30, Michelle moved on to a home salon so she could juggle her family and work.

She moved her life from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne for a more relaxed Surf Coast lifestyle.

“I’m loving the friendly chilled vibe and meeting so many new lovely people with young families,” she said.

“It’s an awesome place to bring up my kids – the lifestyle and beautiful coast.”

Michelle offers all hair services, including colour, foils, toning, cuts, blow waves, and all formal styling including weddings and debutantes.

She also does kids and men’s hair cuts, spray tans and waxing.

“I’ve had years of experience in all things hair, working with Eleven Australia for all styling needs and Muk Hair for straightening irons, curling wands and hairdryers,” she said.

Michelle said she started in the hair industry as a teen and was qualified by the age of 18.

“I worked in a family salon for 15 years, running up to 12 staff as manager and senior stylist, in which time I entered and won a competition, which the prize was a trip to the UK working with the Australian Fame Team at Salon International in London,” she said.

“While I was in the UK working and travelling I landed jobs with the teams at Toni & Guy and Headmaster salons, then once back in Australia I was a guest speaker for many master classes teaching for Indola Australia.”
