Keep bins clean with Gerry’s

December 6, 2018 BY

Gerry’s Bin Wash is owned and operated by Torquay local Ged Brody, who is now offering his bin cleaning business to domestic as well as industrial bins.

GERRY’S Bin Wash is owned and operated by Torquay local Ged Brody, based in Geelong and the Surf Coast, they cater to Western Victoria (including Warrnambool and Port Fairy) and the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Ged alongside two other staff work most mornings from 4.30am and 5.30am – until the end of work hours and said the business idea came after he saw something similar in Adelaide.

“When living in Adelaide in 2003, I saw a similar concept and when I returned to live in Geelong in 2004, I started up a bin cleaning business,” he said.

“I like to have control over working my own hours, which gives me some flexibility, to spend time with my young family.”

The team offers a wheelie bin cleaning service, which includes first disinfecting the bins, then cleaning the bins with specialised high-pressure cleaning equipment; finishing with deodoriser.

“We are able to clean bins of all sizes, ranging from 120-litre to 1,100-litre wheelie bins, and larger skip bins. Up until recently we have only offered the service to councils, schools, caravan parks and other commercial based customers,” Ged said.

“However, I am now opening up the service to Torquay and Jan Juc households for a two-week trial period in December.”

Ged said they pride themselves on offering a hassle-free bin service after launching the business almost four years ago.

“We moved to Torquay and living on the Surf Coast has definitely put family life balance in perspective for our young family,” he said.

“We would like to emphasise that our business is now available to the domestic residential market (not only commercial clients) – initially in the Torquay area, but expanding to other areas in 2019.”
