Local gym partners with BCNA for Pink Ribbon Day

September 18, 2019 BY

According to BCNA, breast cancer accounts for 14.9 per cent of all cancer deaths in Australian women.

Anytime Fitness (Torquay and Grovedale) has teamed up with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) to campaign for Pink Ribbon Day, an annual fundraiser that raises awareness and funds for breast and gynaecological cancers.

As part of its fundraising efforts, Anytime Fitness has coordinated a raffle and opened its spin class for “Super Spin Saturdays” on August 24 and September 7.

The next round of classes will be on September 21 and October 5 from 8am-9.30am at its Torquay site, with entry fees forwarded as donations to Pink Ribbon Day. Members and non-members are encouraged to attend. People are also welcome to train in the cardio or weights area during this time.

Raffle tickets – which are on sale now – will see its purchasers go in the running to win two $500 cash cheques from Elite Auto Wholesales and Just Hydroponics, a custom designed surfboard from South Coast Surfboards (valued at $850) or a one-year membership with Anytime Fitness Torquay.

Raffle tickets are available from Anytime Fitness Torquay, Salty Dog Café and Bells Beach Brewing. Winners will be drawn on October 19.

A silent auction will also see a BCNA guernsey signed by Melbourne Football Club’s Harrison Petty up for grabs.

You can view the guernsey and place a bid on site at Anytime Fitness Torquay. Bidding closes on October 19.

Help Anytime Fitness reach its fundraising goal of $5,000 by getting behind its local events.
