MYALIE’S ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THAT elusive design

Myalie Loveday loves her family and her passion is handcrafting unique original designed jewellery and creations.

The owner of Silver Bear Designs, Myalie began her silversmith jewellery journey in 2011 when she summoned the courage to venture out to find her spark that ignited deep within her soul.

“This guided me to return to study and love what I was learning and I knew I would continue to do till I was an older version of myself,” Myalie said.

“After six months I was definitely hooked and my passion bloomed into something I knew I was destined to do.”

Myalie works with sterling silver, copper, brass, nickle, leather, wood, gems, glass and anything that will enhance her pieces.

“My creations are a part of the moment and when a design is bought to fruition I find I just have to make it,” she said.

“Always I am looking for that elusive design… it is a truly satisfying feeling to fulfil my creative mind with such wonderful and beautiful ideas.”

Myalie said she loved to paint and her inspirations came from her love of studying the Native American culture.

“They are truly beautiful in themselves, their beliefs and way of life,” she said.

“This is where my ideas are born and I then transfer them to my creations.

“I endeavour to avoid being influenced by trends and preconceived ideas of what I, as a jeweller is meant to be.”

Myalie said a well handcrafted piece of jewellery, unique and timeless in design, should be made to last a life time, the craftsmanship should not only enhance the piece’s attributes, but with age continuous compliments to the wearer.

“My pieces when designed and created will find their soulmates,” she said.

“The piece selects the person and I truly believe that.”

Commission and custom-made pieces are created with the utmost consideration to the brief.

“I adhere diligently to the details in creating their specially bespoke designed creation,” she said.
