BEATS, beanies and beers will land at the Aireys Pub tomorrow (Saturday, December 6) as the local venue raises vital funds for an important cause.
Rock the Beanie will kick off at 1.30pm, welcoming people onto the indoor and outdoor stages for a day of music, community and giving back.
To make the event accessible to everyone, the Aireys Pub team has decided to make entry free and will raise funds for Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer through donations.
The chosen charity and cause – which works to raise vital funds in brains cancer research – is one close to the Aireys Pub team, who lost a friend to the disease.
Aireys Pub marketing manager Lorcan O’Kelly said while trying to raise as much money as possible for the charity, they are also working to support local artists.
“We’re trying to promote up-and-coming talent on the Surf Coast, as well as some staples, some crowd favorites that have been around for years.
“We’ve got different acts and artists, all music, different styles, some will be kind of light, chill covers and then moving into a bit more rock as well.
“We want people to know that there’s going to be live music all day, particularly on our outdoor stage, which is a big trailer that we pull out on our front lawn and people can sit out there on the tables.”
The lineup will include performances from headliners and local band South Atlas whose music reflects the environment of the region.
Also taking the stage for the event are Twin Flame, Atomic Entourage, Blue Earth and Riflebirds.
Attendees are encouraged to head along for the day, dig deep and enjoy the entertainment while kicking back in the sunshine.
