Great Ocean Road Gin owners Ann Houlihan and Kriss McKie are excited to bring back their popular, limited-edition Christmas Gin Liqueur for the coming market season at Aireys Inlet.

THE Christmas spirit has landed on the Surf Coast, with Aireys Inlet Market stallholders set to stimulate your senses at coming markets on November 23 and December 14.

One the most loved and eclectic markets in the Great Ocean Road region, Aireys Inlet Market offers a handpicked selection of the best arts, handcrafted goods, street food, gourmet treats and local produce to cover all your Christmas shopping.

Handmade Christmas decorations will be available from local stallholders.

“We love giving our community direct access to our local artisans, creators and growers, who have so much to offer shoppers for Christmas,” market administrator Fay Valcanis said.

“It is very special to know that a gift has been handmade or homegrown. We also love that each time our community shops at the market, they are supporting local small businesses too.”

Great Ocean Road Gin is excited to bring back its popular Christmas Gin Liqueur for the festive season.

Founder Ann Houlihan said the limited-edition gin is infused with her mum’s traditional Christmas cake recipe and dressed in a new label, ‘Summer at Urquhart’, which has been created by local artist David “Macca” McArthur.

“Enjoying locally made products like Ann’s Christmas gin is a perfect way to celebrate the things we love most about the Surf Coast and to infuse the flavour of the region into our gift-giving,” Valcanis said.

Each Aireys Inlet Market caters for 70 stallholders who are predominately from the local surrounds.

From bespoke Christmas wreaths, to mulled wine mixes, recycled plastic decorations, summer cordials and an eclectic collection of Christmas cards and decorations, shoppers are guaranteed to find something for everyone including that tricky, hard-to-buy-for person.

The market also offers a wide range of produce to enhance your Christmas feast, from smoked fish and grass-fed beef, to local olive oil, cheeses, chilli sauces, relishes, muesli, spice blends, pasta, fresh berries and more.

Treat your loved ones to a box of OMG Decadent Donuts this Christmas.

“A really simple idea is to take one of our free hand-painted market bags and fill it with some of your favourite treats as a special thank you or gift for someone. Local wines, gin, honey, jams and so on make a lovely gift,” Valcanis said.

“Christmas is my favourite time of the year – and there is a special vibe about Christmas markets that I just love.”

Aireys Inlet Market operates from 9am to 1pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall at 6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet.

The Christmas markets operate on Sunday, November 23 and Sunday, December 14. Summer markets continue in Aireys Inlet on Sunday, December 28 and every Sunday in January.
