Salty Lake Film Fest winners Georgia Grillinzoni, Grace Dunphy and Izzy Honey-Wilson with Sarah Henderson and Queenscliff Primary School Principal Richard Buckingham.

A short video created by three Queenscliff Primary pupils has won their school an impressive $5,000.

Georgia Grillinzoni, Grace Dunphy and Izzy Honey-Wilson recently won first prize in the Salty Lake Film Fest, “Let’s End our Plastic World” competition.

The girls’ one-minute creation highlights the need to reduce the impact of plastics in our environment, particularly along our coastline and in our oceans.

The Salty Lake Film Fest offered young people living in the Corangamite electorate the opportunity to express their creativity as well as showcase their talent.

Primary and secondary school students – either living in the Corangamite electorate or attending a school located in the Corangamite electorate – were invited to submit either a photograph or short film up to one minute in duration.

Cotton On and then-Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson offered prize money of $10,000 to the winning schools, including $250 for winning participants.
