Summer vibes kick off with weekly markets at Aireys Inlet

AIREYS Inlet Market welcomes visitors to the Surf Coast with its weekly Summer Markets every Sunday throughout January.

One the most loved and eclectic markets along the Great Ocean Road, the Aireys Inlet Market is a favourite for locals and holiday-makers on the Surf Coast.

Its weekly Sunday markets provide an easy option for picking up local supplies and groceries during the busy peak period, from Otway Prime meat and Bellarine smoked fish, to fresh vegetables, fruit and seasonal berries, cheeses, gourmet coffee beans and honey, preserves, fresh flowers and more.

The market also features a hand-picked, high quality selection of the region’s best arts, handcrafted goods, plants, street food and local treats such as the famous OMG gluten-free donuts.

 

“We are excited to be able to offer local artisans, creators and growers the opportunity to be a part of the Aireys Inlet Market community,” market administrator, Fay Valcanis, said.

“The market has a strong community essence that allows stallholders to connect with new and existing customers and promote the best of the region.”

The market caters for 70 stallholders who are predominately from the local area.

“Visitors will find a great mix of stalls, including some that are new to the Aireys Inlet Market, alongside our regulars, which helps to ensure market-goers are presented with a variety of fresh creativity, along with old favourites,” Valcanis said.

From bespoke ceramics to handcrafted clothing, woodwork and art, the market caters for a wide range of products, making it an ideal day out to browse, buy or meet up for lunch or a coffee with friends.

 

Live music is a feature of each market, featuring some of Surf Coast’s favourite local performers like Barbarella, Evan Jones and Tony Prowse, as well as visiting acts like Melbourne-based duo ‘The Carlisles’ led by Irish-born singer Cyril Moran.

Aireys Inlet Market operates from the Aireys Inlet Community Hall at 6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet.
