About 20 creatives from the Surf Coast will set up shop at Peppers The Sands Resort Torquay tonight (Thursday, December 12) to sell locally made goods just in time for Christmas.

Event organiser Emma Barr from Yogi Peace Club said she hoped the Christmas market would serve as an opportunity for locals to support small businesses in Torquay.

“It is also a great chance for these lovely local businesses to showcase their creativity with what they are designing.

“There are so many entrepreneurs in our town, and this market hopes to bring them together into one space.

“We have had an overwhelming response and are hoping to run another market at Easter where we can have more stalls.”

The market is being held from 5-9pm tonight at the Sands Resort in the Balmoral room.

The bar inside the function room will also be open so marketgoers can enjoy a drink while they browse and shop.

Bringing the beats will be Emily Suckling, Momoko Rose and Lucy Monea.

A gold coin donation upon arrival will be directed to mental health charity Ocean Mind, with attendees automatically going in the running to win a Christmas hamper from each stall holder.
