Take a trip on The Bellarine Railway

September 18, 2019 BY

Looking for something fun and adventurous to do these school holidays?

Take a scenic journey from Queenscliff to Drysdale or Lakers Siding, travelling alongside Swan Bay and through remnant bush, via The Bellarine Railway.

Trains depart from Queenscliff and Drysdale stations, on most Sundays throughout the year, as well as Tuesday and Thursday in the Easter, July and September school holidays. During the summer holidays, extra train running days will be scheduled.

Private carriage hire is ideal for birthdays and groups of more than 20, but bookings are essential.

Cycle or walk beside an operating railway from Drysdale to Queenscliff and return onboard The Bellarine Railway’s carriages. Bikes are carried free and group bookings are advised. A lunch pack option is now available when booking tickets online.

Enjoy the Teddy Bear Special on September 22, or a Day Out with Thomas on October 5 and 6.

These family specials are perfect for parents and grandparents with children who love to watch, learn and perform magic. Tickets may be purchased online or at Queenscliff Station on the day, unless sold out prior.

The Bellarine Railway is a not-for-profit organisation offering steam train rides, train driver experiences, charters, as well as family events and specials such as Day Out with Thomas weekends, Halloween and Santa Trains.

The railway has been maintained by dedicated volunteers since 1979 and features a unique collection of heritage locomotives and carriages from around Australia. New volunteers are always welcome.

Please visit the website for more information on train running days and bookings. Personalised gift vouchers are available for all services, experiences and events. Head to bellarinerailway.com.au or facebook.com/TheBellarineRailway.
