Husband and wife Ryan and Erin Rowell have brought the beauty of Southern California to Torquay, transforming the perception of conventional gyms forever.

TORQ F1T, their boutique style training centre offers cutting edge equipment, in a breathtaking space with resources suitable for all abilities.

Ryan said his introduction to fitness through sports in high school evolved into a passion for cross training which he eventually turned into a full-time profession.

“I was racing motorcycles at a professional level while cross training and after stepping away from racing, began to mentor and train elite athletes exclusively. We eventually opened our first business in Southern California,” he said.

“What we enjoy about our work is that if you can find something you love and turn it into a job, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Ryan said their state-of-the-art facility is reflective of the endless hours they poured into the space ensuring a truly unforgettable experience for members.

“At TORQ F1T we offer multiple training solutions for everybody, whether you are just beginning your fitness journey or a professional athlete, we have something for you,” he said.

“Choose from our group class format, personal training or private Pilates studio. We’re owner/operated and open from 6am-8pm Monday to Friday, 7am-10am Saturdays and closed Sundays.

“Members are able to download our app “TORQ F1T” for all hours and current class schedules. We’ve got group spin, sweat, Mat Pilates and more.”

Ryan said what makes them unique is their style and focus on training, taking a functional approach to fitness.

“We pride ourselves on our facility, it’s one of a kind. I’ve been in Torquay for a little over a year now but Erin is originally from Torquay, she moved to the states for 12 years and is now back home,” he said.

“I love how active the community is. Whether it’s surfing, running, cycling, the Surf Coast has so much to offer. We’re offering three free classes to all new members so people can get a feel for the facility and the camaraderie amongst current members.

“We also have a special offer of $99 for your first month’s membership. We really hope to continue inspiring the community to live a healthy lifestyle and really localize our brand.”
