The Plumbing Business servicing the Surf Coast

May 23, 2019 BY

After launching in Melbourne in 2010, The Plumbing Business - with owners Bart and Ayesha Martin and their children Daisy and Elwood - has made the sea change to Anglesea.

THE Plumbing Business (TPB) has been servicing the Surf Coast and surrounds for the past 12 months and is family-owned and operated by Bart Martin and his wife Ayesha.

The pair along with their two children made the sea change from Melbourne to Anglesea at the end of 2017 and brought with them the company they launched in 2010.

“I completed my apprenticeship with my father Denis, who’s been a plumber his whole working life. I reckon I learnt from one of the best,” Bart said.

“I ended up taking over a lot of his clients when we started TPB at the start of 2010 and he started to work for us, taking a back seat. He still helps me out from time to time just for old time’s sake.”

Bart said he loved his job as it gives him the opportunity to work outdoors utilising both his hands and mind.

“I get great satisfaction standing back at the end of a job, looking at the finished product and thinking, I did that!” he said.

“I am licenced in all areas of the trade and service, plumbing maintenance, gas systems, hot water units and bathroom renovations. I don’t necessarily specialise any area in particular but if any, it would be roofing.

“I have a real talent for finding and repairing leaks. I can repair rusted roofs and gutters or simply replace with new. I have all the equipment to safely clean your gutters, and with autumn now in full swing, I will give high priority to gutter cleaning jobs when booked in.”

TPB prides themselves on delivering the highest standard of services to their customers.

“My business motto is, ‘Would I accept that at my house?’. I take a lot of care and pride in my work and always take the time that is needed to do a professional and competent job.”

Having been a part time resident in Anglesea for over 17 years, Bart and his family are loving life since they made their residency permanent.

“We just love it here. My son Elwood is enrolled at Anglesea Primary and my daughter, Daisy, has just started at Surf Coast Secondary College. We feel very lucky to live in this paradise where we can take a two-minute walk to the beach,” he said.

“The kids and I love surfing, so we do that most days we can in the colder months. The access to nature is second to none and our children are thriving here.

Bart said although he loves to get out on the water, he will still turn up to the job even if the surf is pumping.
