Victorian artists go regional

March 21, 2019 BY

Children are Stinky is one of the productions in this year’s line-up from Regional Arts Victoria.

Victorian artists have packed their bags for touring across the state and Australia, as Regional Arts Victoria’s 2019 touring roster gets moving.

Developed with artists and venues, and traversing themes rich in the human experience, as well as deep in connection to people and country, there is much to be excited about.

“The 2019 program really highlights the incredible talent of Victorian artists with tours reaching all corners of the state and the country. We are inspired by the artists and venues we work with who bring their unique performance, story and cultural practice to the stage,” touring services manager Dale Packard said.

Artists coming to the Geelongregion, include Children are Stinky by Circus Trick Tease by NCM at the Geelong Performing Arts Centre in July, Robot Song by Arena Theatre Company at GPAC in June, Swansong by Red Hot Productions at the Potato Shed in July, and This is Eden by Emily Goddard in association with Froudist at the Potato Shed in October.

Through touring services, Regional Arts Victoria works with regional venues and artists to demystify creative experiences, and supports the development of independent creative practice.

“Touring is more than a series of one off events. It’s about connecting people, sharing ideas and supporting artists to develop sustainable careers,” Mr Packard said.

Regional Arts Victoria is the peak body for regional artists and arts organisations in Victoria and the leading organisation for regional creative practice in Victoria.

Touring Services delivers high quality arts experiences to a range of venues throughout Victoria and across the country.
