Woolworths Warralily opens
SHOPPERS in Armstrong Creek can now enjoy a new and modern shopping experience with the opening of the new Woolworths at Warralily Village.
The supermarket in Barwon Heads Road was officially launched by South Barwon MP Andrew Katos yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
The Woolworths Warralily full-line supermarket features fresh produce, bakery and a deli with separate seafood.
The store has also brought employment opportunities to the local area, creating nearly 40 new jobs for the region, plus an extra 20 positions over the busy Christmas period.
“The store has been designed with the customer at heart following a great deal of time spent understanding what local shoppers are looking for,” Woolworths Warralily store manager Matthew Fewster said.
“Our aim is to always provide great quality, value and fresh options for all our customers and to make meal shopping and preparation easier.
“With this new store opening, our local customers can look forward to a modern and contemporary shopping experience.
“With 100 per cent of our fresh meat and 96 per cent of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from Australia, the store has been designed to also showcase the wonderful seasonality of our produce and provide further food inspiration for our customers.”
Mr Fewster also presented $1,000 gift cards to representatives from the Mount Duneed Regional Primary School (whose choir performed at the opening) and Barwon Heads Primary School.
Mr Katos said he was particularly happy to see the supermarket open as it would improve the amenity for Warralily residents such as himself, and noted that he already had a shopping list from his wife in his pocket. He was spotted soon afterwards perusing the aisles with a half-full basket.
To celebrate the opening, Woolworths Warralily will hold a family-friendly event this Saturday October, with food sampling in store, face painters and other activities for children.
The supermarket’s opening hours are 7am until 10pm, seven days a week.
