Another national nod for local favourite
With more than 40 flavours available daily, Dooley’s continues to focus on what it does best: crafting premium ice cream, one scoop at a time.
FRESH from another major national accolade, Dooley’s Premium Ice Cream is once again giving ice-cream lovers a reason to line up.
The Australian-owned business was recognised at the 2025 Australian Grand Dairy Awards, adding yet another top honour to its long list of achievements – this time for its popular Honey Malt flavour.
The result continues a remarkable run for Dooley’s, which has now claimed the country’s top ice-cream title six times across four different flavours, alongside more than 600 awards since 2008.
Owner Alyciandra Milner said the recognition was a proud moment, not just for the business but for the work that goes on behind the scenes every day.
“We don’t skimp on quality,” she said. “There’s years of knowledge behind the manufacturing side, and we love what we do.”

Honey Malt may be enjoying its moment in the spotlight, but it’s far from a new creation. The flavour has been part of the Dooley’s range for around 15 years, earning a loyal following thanks to its balance of sweetness, texture and rich malt character – a combination that continues to win over both customers and judges.
Founded as a father-daughter business, Dooley’s opened its first shop in Apollo Bay in 2002, quickly building a reputation for premium ice-cream made with care, experience and high-quality ingredients.
Where possible, the team sources locally and caters for a range of dietary requirements, ensuring more people can enjoy what’s on offer.
That philosophy has carried through to its newest chapter, with the Torquay store opening in late 2024.
“More and more people are learning about or experiencing our quality, and it’s getting busier and busier,” Milner said.
While the awards provide valuable recognition, Milner said they also reaffirm the business’s commitment to doing things properly.

“It reaffirms that we are making things correctly and for how people are enjoying it – that is internationally recognised as well,” she said.

Dooley’s Premium Ice-Cream is at 4/8 Gilbert Street in Torquay and 89 Great Ocean Road in Apollo Bay.
