Business excellence awarded in Torquay

THE winners of this year’s Rotary Torquay Business Excellence Awards have been revealed.

Gretchen Gibson (left) presents the Health & Wellbeing award to Women’s Health Torquay’s Dr Niamh Logue.

The Rotary Club of Torquay held the awards for the first time last year, and teamed up with Commerce Torquay for the 2023 edition, offering awards in five categories plus a best overall award for businesses located within the 3228 postcode.

This year’s winners were:

  • Health & Wellbeing, sponsored by Torquay Community Enterprise – Women’s Health Torquay, accepted by Dr Niamh Logue. Women’s Health Torquay is a new medical practice opening earlier this year with 3 GP’s providing specialists care to women over the age of 12 in a warm and welcoming environment
  • Volunteer Organisation or Individual, sponsored by Rotary Club of Torquay – Surf Coast Wildlife Rescue, accepted by Jason Cichocki. Surf Coast Wildlife Rescue provides 24/7 rescue and assistance for injured or orphaned wildlife and has an extensive after care network

  • Professional Service, Sponsored by Business Network International – MSAC Solutions, accepted by Andy McKie. MSAC Solutions is a local business with team members and clients around the world supporting compliance with food safety standards and the introduction of sustainable packaging.
  • Tourism & Hospitality, sponsored by Commerce Torquay – Torquay Wine Store, accepted by Mick Dowling. Along with an array of quality wines Torquay Wine store also provides support for local artists and businesses hosting tastings, master classes, community group events
