C99 referred to panel

February 12, 2016 BY

IN THE last edition of the Surf Coast Times and Armstrong Creek Times it was reported that a section of farmland in at 305 Great Ocean Road had been approved to be rezoned and subdivided into residential lots following a council decision. The Surf Coast Shire had not yet confirmed the rezoning or subdivision would go ahead, but agreed to refer public submissions on planning scheme amendment C99 to an independent planning panel. Nine submissions to the planning scheme amendment were lodged during the exhibition process including four objections, which council will refer to an independent planning panel for consideration. Upon receiving the panel’s recommendations, council may choose to amend or abandon the amendment, or proceed to seeking final approval from the Minister for Planning.
