College to host Community Wellness Market

January 9, 2019 BY

SURF Coast Secondary College is hosting a Community Wellness Market later this month, both as a fundraiser and a way to connect people. Organisers say the market aims to raise funds to purchase solar panels in an effort to save energy and make the school a more sustainable environment for students and the community. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 to win one of three hampers, generously filled by stall holders and local community business to be drawn on the day. Entry to the gym will be by gold coin donation, with confirmed stalls including The Other Straw, Massage Therapies, Foti initiative healer and astrologist psychic, Earth Bottles, ECOnation Collective, Kinesiology, and Enviro Friends. Outdoor creators market stalls include The Scented Save, Eco Ink and Yalang A Lang Jewels. The children’s area will have Jacq of All Trades face painting, community groups and volunteers such as the SES, and much more. There will also be food trucks and live music (BYO picnic rugs). The market coincides with the regular farmers’ market held next door at the Surf Coast Shire offices as well as part of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. The Community Wellness Market will be held at Surf Coast Secondary College, 75 White Street, Torquay, on January 26 from 10am-3pm. If you would like to host a stall, email Mia Shead at [email protected] or SMS 0438 526 314. As well as the market, the school will also host a car boot sale. If you are interested, email Jenny to organise a spot at moss.jennifer.l@edumail. vic.gov.au.
