THE Anglesea community can boost their health, confidence and independence at a major community road show, with the Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Coastal event hitting the town next month.

To take place at the Anglesea Memorial Hall on March 18, the road show is part of the Surf Coast Shire’s Positive Ageing Program, bringing together various local groups and experts to provide support around a range of health-related topics.

Topics to be discussed include mental and general health, social connections, financial assistance, scam awareness, digital banking and dementia.

Cr Mike Bodsworth emphasised the importance of the road show in providing easily accessible and free information to the community.

“We know staying connected and informed plays a big role in living and ageing well, and this event is a great opportunity for community members to ask questions, have conversations and discover what support is available locally,” Cr Bodsworth said.

“We want people to feel comfortable coming along, having a chat and picking up information that could really make a difference in their lives.”

It is the second time the event will be held, following the success of the inaugural running in Winchelsea last year.

A range of presentations will be held from 9.30am to 2pm, with further information and stalls on site from organisations such as Dementia Australia, Lifeline, Anglesea Community House and Community Bank Anglesea.
