THE City of Greater Geelong has opened a survey for locals to have their say on the recently released 2026 calendar.

Each year, the city releases a free annual calendar that promotes events, reflects community pride and shares key dates for the year ahead, and welcomes feedback on all aspects to shape next year’s edition.

The 2026 edition has an image of a beautiful sunrise over Barwon Heads as the cover, which was captured by local photographer Fabian Reinelt and chosen through an online public vote.

The calendar features inclusions and improvements based on last year’s community feedback, such as front and back covers, monthly images all selected via competition and better paper quality and durability.

Geelong mayor, Stretch Kontelj, said the calendar has become a much-loved staple in homes in the region, and could be further fine-tuned with feedback the city received.

“I know many residents await the new calendar with great anticipation each year.

“It’s a popular topic of conversation with wide-ranging views on how a Geelong calendar should look, and this is your opportunity to tell us directly.”

Deputy chair of the arts and culture, hospitality and live entertainment portfolio, Cr Elise Wilkinson, said the calendar showcased local talent, scenery and dates that matter.

“It’s a practical resource, but also a celebration of our people, places and shared pride in Greater Geelong,” she said.

“It becomes a special part of daily family life, so it’s important we get it right.”
