TORQUAY’S Banyul-Warri Fields netball courts are now closed to the public as repair and resurfacing works begin.
As part of the works repairs will be made to damaged and cracked sections of asphalt, uneven surfaces levelled and the courts resurfaced with a blue Synpave acrylic sports surface.
The courts will remain closed throughout the works, which are estimated to be completed before Christmas.
Courts will undergo slip resistance testing by a National Association of Test Authorities accredited company before reopening.
The reopening of the highly used community facility will also align with the Surf Coast Suns’ entry to the Bellarine Football Netball League’s senior competition next year.”
The project is funded from the Surf Coast Shire’s 2025-26 assets renewal budget.
Cr Paul Barker said they shire was investing in renewing courts across the shire due to their degradation.
“This renewal project is timely given the busy year ahead for the Surf Coast Suns as they start their senior program.”
Torquay’s project follows court reconstructions in Lorne, Winchelsea and Anglesea earlier this year.
