Easter cheer hops into Regis Torquay
THE Easter Bunny made a special stop at Regis Aged Care in Torquay last week, ensuring residents didn’t miss out on the chocolate-filled celebrations.
A festive morning tea, an Easter egg hunt in the garden and a visit from the Easter Bunny brought plenty of smiles, with residents enjoying the chance to celebrate together.

Regis Aged Care general manager Sharon Sapstead said it was a great day for all involved.
“It was a really lovely day,” she said. “The residents loved to see management help serve food and be a part of the entertainment, and they loved the Easter Bunny.”

She said events like these play an important role in bringing people together. “Families, friends, visitors, residents, team – it’s a really good social event for the residents, and great for the team and the morale.”
Having been in the role for just eight weeks, Sapstead said she was already seeing positive change at the facility.

“The atmosphere is improving,” she said. “We are hiring and recruiting lots of new team members and doing lots of training and education.
“I enjoy personally coming here for the team and the residents, trying to make their homes a better place.”
Residents echoed that sentiment, saying they particularly enjoy occasions like Easter, when staff go the extra mile to create something special.
