Epic wrong turn leaves car in skate bowl

December 21, 2017 BY

A WRONG turn of epic proportions has found one embarrassed P-plater on the phone to his father in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to the Ocean Grove Skate Park around 8am after reports of a car in the skate park bowls and discovered the vehicle sans driver.

Sergeant Shane Connolly said the young driver was not familiar with the area and was attempting to drive over to friends when the incident occurred.

“The car wasn’t stolen he drove it in there himself, he was driving over to his friends without the lights on and didn’t know the layout and has gone straight down,” he said.

“He went down pretty slow so didn’t get hurt and there’s hardly any damage to the car or the skate park.

“Not knowing what to do, he got a hold of his dad who has tow truck friends, and they’ve gone down and pulled the car out.

“It’s one of those bizarre things but there’s not much to it. He might get a careless driving ticket but the cost of getting it out far outweighs anything else.”
