LOCALS and tourists alike can escape to the serenity of the beach and get their dose of daily tranquility at beach yoga sessions this summer season.

Torquay residents Emily Lens and Brooke Chiller are bringing their 3228 Beach Yoga concept to the Surf Coast’s sandy shores throughout January 2024.

Hosted against the backdrop of the coastline, the session will provide people with a unique opportunity to rejuvenate their mind, body and spirit.

Brooke Chiller and Emily Lens are hosting the sessions throughout January 2024.

The sessions will be one hour in duration and be based out of Cosy Corner on the Torquay Esplanade.

Ms Lens said beach yoga was the perfect way to start off 2024 with a fresh outlook both in mind and body.

“We are both yoga teachers along the Surf Coast and many of our students are keen to practice in the great outdoors,” she said.

“Practicing yoga outside, especially in natural settings like a beach, offers a range of benefits that contribute to the overall experience and well-being of the student.

“It is also a great opportunity for the tourists to participate and gain an insight into our beautiful town.

“We don’t think beach yoga has been run like this before, so we are very excited.”

3228 Beach Yoga has gained the tick of approval from the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority and the Surf Coast Shire.

The sessions will be run from 8-9am daily and will be $20 per class or $85 for a five-card pass.

Bring a yoga mat or towel, sunscreen and a hat.
