Fest-goers seas the day in new seafood format

February 28, 2018 BY

Visitors at the Apollo Bay Seafood Festival could taste fresh produce straight from the boats.

THE Apollo Bay Seafood Festival ran a new three-day format at a new location two weekends ago.

The festival moved from its original grounds on the grassy foreshore to the Apollo Bay Harbour.

New events included Off the Hook, Harbour Day and Conversations On The Edge. All endeavoured to profile those who actively share a vision to champion the spirit of the local fishing community, the world-class seafood sourced from local waters, and the rugged beauty of local coastal towns.

This year’s festival theme was Seas the Day, encouraging visitors to explore everything the festival had to offer.

Guests could dine with 200 other food lovers at Off the Hook or share a seafood celebration prepared by MoVida’s Frank Camorra.

Visitors clambered about fishing boats and tasted the seafood straight from the source at Harbour Day, Saturday’s open day at the Apollo Bay Harbour.

There were cooking workshops scattered throughout town, while farmers and fishers were at Conversations on the Edge.
