Old-school R&B and hip-hop has not yet come to the end of the road, and fans are expected to push it real good when Boyz II Men headline a concert in Geelong with support from Salt-N-Pepa later this year.

The two hit groups from the 1990s will perform at Mt Duneed Estate as part of A Day on the Green’s first tour of the summer.

Boyz II Men remain the best-selling R&B group of all time, with more than 64 million albums sold.

Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman dominated the charts in the 1990s with hits including End of the Road and I’ll Make Love to You.

End of the Road spent 13 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, breaking a record previously held by Elvis Presley, while I’ll Make Love to You also topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand.

Salt-N-Pepa are the first female hip-hop act inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Cheryl “Salt” James, Sandra “Pepa” Denton and DJ Spinderella blazed a trail for female artists and sold more than 15 million records along the way.

As well as breaking down barriers, Salt-N-Pepa championed female sexuality and created anthems such as Push It, Shoop, Whatta Man and Let’s Talk About Sex.

Joining them will be Bell Biv DeVoe, who will make their Australian touring debut.

Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe pioneered the new jack swing movement, blending R&B harmonies, hip-hop beats and pop melodies into a sound that changed the 1990s landscape.

Bell Biv DeVoe’s debut album, Poison, went quadruple platinum on the back of hits such as the title track and Do Me.
