Fishing comp set to reel in funds

December 28, 2017 BY

OCEAN Grove holiday residents will cast their lines tomorrow (Friday) for the fourth Riverview Fishing Classic.

The classic is a fishing competition organised by a group of people from the Riverview Family Caravan Park, with money raised going to the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club.

Last year, the competition involved about 45 competitors who caught a total of 242 fish, with Team Peters winning, with an average of 13 fish, narrowly beating Team Ely with an average of 12.5 fish.

Team Johnston won the NAFA for the least fish caught, and the competition raised more than $1,500 for the Ocean Grove Surf Club.

This year, the competition will be held St Leonard’s boat ramp on December 29, and is restricted to Riverview Tenants and their friends only.

It starts at 8am until midday, and then the combined catch will be cooked and enjoyed by all from 3pm at the Riverview Family Caravan Park’s camp kitchen.

All Riverview Tenants are welcome to join in this enjoyable fundraising event.
