Hundreds bash to Bells and back

HUNDREDS of people pulled their shoes on for last week’s staging of the Bells Bash Cliff Run.

The annual fundraising event for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club on January 4 featured 1.5-kilometre, four-kilometre and eight-kilometre runs along an undulating track between the Jan Juc SLSC clubhouse and Bells Beach.

Runners no doubt appreciated Friday’s cool change coming in before the events began, which dropped temperatures considerably.

4km Open race results:
Men – Jacob Reed (1st), Harrison Carr (2nd), Tom Neerhut (3rd)
Women – Brigitte Humphrey (1st), Rebecca Henderson (2nd), Susi Wilson (3rd)

8km Open race results:
Men – James Lightfoot (1st), Andrew Ferguson (2nd), Matthew Crowley (3rd)
Women – Rochelle Wilson (1st), Catherine Allison (2nd), Karla Treweek (3rd).
