Campaign asks community to Dob in a Dealer
GEELONG residents are being asked to help Crime Stoppers Victoria and the Victoria Police disrupt the manufacture and supply of drugs in the local area by reporting anything they know about drug-dealing offences. The Dob in a Dealer campaign is a nationwide program funded by the Federal Government to stop Australia’s supply chain of illicit drugs including methylamphetamine (ice), cocaine, MDMA, heroin and cannabis. If you have any information about someone who is manufacturing or dealing drugs, phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at crimestoppers.com.au.

Geelong Mums launch Christmas appeal
GEELONG Mums is asking the community to give generously this Christmas to support babies and children facing significant disadvantage in Geelong. This year, the organisation’s Christmas appeal – “From Our Family to Yours” – is asking people to make a financial donation that will provide essential nursery equipment and to leave a message of support
for the family who will receive it. For example, $25 will help buy a “Read to Me” pack which contains stationery and books to help children learn, and $57 will help buy the “Out and About” gift of freedom and independence in the form of a car seat. Head to geelongmums.org.

Access all areas for people with disability
MORE than 480 employers and over 830 people with disability across Australia participated in AccessAbility Day last week. In the initiative, employers volunteer to host a person with a disability in their workplace for a day. It gives employers the chance to see what it’s like to have a person with a disability in their workplace, and it gives each person with a disability the opportunity to experience a workplace which interests them. Assistant Minister for Social Services, Housing and Disability Services Sarah Henderson, said it was great to see the enthusiasm employers have to see the potential of a person with disability in the workplace.
