Whyte’s closes its doors
TORQUAY wine bar and restaurant Whyte’s On The Esplanade has suddenly closed, citing high rental costs and permit problems. The restaurant shut its doors last week and has also deactivated its website, with one of its owners posting an explanation on Facebook last week: “I have handed keys back to (the) Landlord due to high rent and permit issues in the kitchen. I have cancelled all social media but it takes time. I have tried to contact all bookings and apologise for any inconvenience.”
