Joeys will quadruple every donation at dream appeal day

June 12, 2019 BY

The appeal involves the development of two gathering spaces at St Joseph’s College, the Westcourt Multipurpose Gymnasium at the Year 9 Campus, and the extension of the Peter Cannon Performing Arts Centre.

ON June 18, something special is happening at St Joseph’s.

The College is giving families, alumni and friends of the College, an opportunity to participate in the Every Boy, Every Dream Appeal, where every donation is quadrupled.

The appeal involves the development of two gathering spaces, the Westcourt Multipurpose Gymnasium at the Year 9 Campus, and the extension of the Peter Cannon Performing Arts Centre.

These projects will provide the opportunity to bring students together.

The Performing Arts Centre currently seats approximately 240 students.

With a year level of more than 300, they are over 100 seats short to enable a year level and staff to gather as one, making the staging of performances and hosting guest presenters difficult.

The building of the Westcourt Multipurpose Gymnasium facility will allow students to gather as one regardless of weather. Not only to share sport and activities every day, it will provide a place for gathering as an entire community for significant events and celebrations.

“For nearly 85 years St Joseph’s have partnered with families, working together to ensure our young men are supported in pursuing personal excellence here and beyond St Joseph’s. The support of the community throughout this journey, is something we are really proud of,” College Principal Tony Paatsch said.

As the College has now grown from 1,300 students in 2009 to almost 1,900 in 2020, the college remains dedicated to resourcing its future and facilitating broader educational outcomes for students.

On June 18, thanks to the tremendous generosity of their matching donors, all gifts to the appeal will be quadrupled.

The St Joseph’s College Old Collegians Association and the Anthony Costa Foundation have both generously pledged $150,000 to the campaign.

Everyone can be involved as an individual or collectively with their alumni group. All gifts are tax deductible.
