PREP to Grade 6 pupils from Lisieux Catholic Primary School recently treated residents at the Kithbrooke Park Country Club to a special choir and dance performance.

As part of the school’s choir and dancing program, students were given the chance to perform and showcase to the Torquay retirement village community a variety of songs and dances that had been practiced during lunchtimes for the majority of the year.

More than 60 children performed at the Clubhouse to an overwhelmingly positive response, with the crowd delighted by the choreographed performances.

“The children did an amazing job and had perfected a very professional routine that delighted the audience,” Kithbrooke Park Country Club manager Karen Fennell said.

“It was great to see the bond between generations when all the children mingled and chatted after the event, and everyone is hoping and looking forward to Lisieux Primary performing Christmas Carols later in the year.”

Students had been practising the dance routines during lunchtimes for the majority of the year.

Lisieux teacher Carly Finn said it was a pleasure to partner with the Kithbrooke Park Country Club and an event the children would remember for a long time.

“Visiting Kithbrooke Park was an amazing opportunity for our students, as it allowed them to develop their strengths and confidence while deepening our schools relationships with our local community,” Ms Finn said.

“Our students were extremely excited to show off their hard work to the residents at Kithbrooke and this event was a highlight of the year for many of our students and the residents.”

Lisieux look forward to being welcomed back to Kithbrooke for Christmas carols this December.
