Local gym partners with BCNA for Pink Ribbon Day

August 15, 2019 BY

According to BCNA, breast cancer accounts for 14.9 per cent of all cancer deaths in Australian women.

ANYTIME Fitness (Torquay and Grovedale) has teamed up with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) to campaign for Pink Ribbon Day, an annual fundraiser that raises awareness and funds for breast and gynaecological cancers.

In a bid to garner community support, the fitness chain has attracted major sponsors including South Coast Surfboards.

As part of its fundraising efforts, Anytime Fitness will coordinate a raffle and open its spin class to the public for “Super Spin Saturdays” on August 24, September 7, September 21 and October 5 at its Torquay site.

Each class will run from 8am until 9.30. Participants over 16 are invited to attend for a donation that will be forwarded to the Pink Ribbon Day fundraiser.

The generosity has extended beyond the gym and down to Bells, with Bells Beach Brewing locked in to open its doors for the cause on Saturday October 19.

Anytime Fitness will put on a sausage sizzle (vegan options available) and a cake stand which will be run by a host of local pink ladies. The raffle winners will also be drawn on the day.

All proceeds raised at the event will be donated to Pink Ribbon Day.

Interested in purchasing raffle tickets? Call 52646512 (Torquay), 52442294 (Grovedale) or pop into either Anytime Fitness gyms.
