Lookout delights Torquay

Thousands of people flocked to Torquay Common at the weekend for the return of Lookout Festival.

The sun was shining and vibes were high throughout what was a fine day of world-class musical expression.

DJ Minx got the crowd into a boogie, before Sneaky Sound System erupted with hits such as UFO and Pictures.

Sneaky Sound System were on fire and all class with their performance.

 

English songwriter Freya Ridings delighted with her sweet and elegant sound as Castles sent shockwaves through the crowd.

Australian alternative rockers Birds of Tokyo delivered a top-notch performance all-round, combining some of their most well-known songs with some new material.

I’d Go With You Anywhere, Lanterns and Plans saw plenty of hands in the air and singing along.

Eskimo Joe shone bright to follow, with the song Sarah bursting the crowd into a head bop.

Cult favourite Black Fingernails Red Wine was a timeless ode to the past and hit home for many of those in attendance.

Headliners OneRepublic then hit the stage, with the global outfit making a mark on the Torquay crowd.

The Grammy-nominated band had the audience in the palm of their hand, with top hits such as Apologize, Counting Stars and Runaway.

Torquay will now hibernate for a few weeks before the SummerSalt music festival rolls into town on March 8.

The event bill will feature Ocean Alley, Allah Las, The Babe Rainbow, Skegss, Mid Drift, Le Shiv and Seaside.
