THERE is a lot to love about this quaint, boutique market that is the Aireys Inlet Market with its community vibe and unique stalls.
With an ethos for selecting stalls that focus on handmade, homegrown and local, it is no surprise that visitors have easily fallen in love with this market – as witnessed by more than 8,000 visitors during the summer months.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the next market on Sunday, February 8 offers visitors the chance to pick up something special for their loved ones.
“We are excited to be able to offer local artisans, creators and growers the opportunity to be a part of the Aireys Inlet Market community,” market administrator, Fay Valcanis, said.
Making her debut appearance, author Terri Walls together with illustrator Miranda Scherger, will be signing copies of their new young children’s book Margo the Magpie’s Wish.

“Young children and bird enthusiasts will love this picture book,” Ms Valcanis said. “It’s a heartwarming story about a young magpie who wishes she were like other birds – the dazzling lorikeet or the wise owl.
“After a heart-to-heart with her wise Daddy Magpie, she learns to accept herself and recognise the value of her own unique qualities, ultimately wishing to sing her own song.
“From bespoke ceramics to handcrafted clothing, woodwork and art, the market offers a wide variety of products making it an ideal day out to browse, buy or meet up for lunch or a coffee with friends.
“The market gives new stallholders the opportunity to connect with buyers and help develop their business,” Ms Valcanis said.
“We are excited to welcome another new stallholder Tulliah Rogers of ‘Hey Tully’, an Ocean Grove resident who is bringing her handmade jumpers, vests and accessories from discarded second-hand materials to our next market.

“Selling your new product can be daunting but the friendly atmosphere created at the Aireys Inlet Market allows stallholders to make strong connections and loyal customers. And buying from a local business is always a win-win.”
Take a road trip down the Great Ocean Road with your loved ones and find something really special from one of the 70 unique stalls this February.
The Aireys Inlet Market operates from the Aireys Inlet Community Hall at 6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet. After its next market date on February 8, it will continue to run monthly through to July.
