Market season is back

TRADERS are gearing up for the return of the coast’s peak market season with organisers of events in Lorne and Anglesea putting the finishing touches on preparations for their next meetings in coming weeks.

Stall holder applications are now open for the Melbourne Cup Weekend Market in Lorne on October 29, as well the events 2023 dates for the Australian Day weekend, Easter Saturday and the King’s Birthday weekend.

Run by volunteers from Lorne P-12 College’s Parent and Friends Club the market will host over 100 stalls at the Lorne Foreshore off Mountjoy Parade and are supported by the college and Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority.

All funds raised from site fees are donated to the Lorne P-12 College.

Daylight saving means the Anglesea Twilight Farmers Market is also back at its usual location off McMillan Street.

An initiative of the Anglesea Community House, the market showcasing sustainably produced local food and produce starts at 4:30pm and runs through till 8:00pm on Friday, November 4.

The biweekly market is held on the first and third Friday of the month between November and March.
