THE Torquay Surf Life Saving Club (TSLSC) have wrapped their Easter Weekend after three massive days.

The Tracks party began proceedings on Good Friday, followed by the inaugural Dragon Club Series with Jebediah playing on Saturday night and a list of local talent taking the stage on Sunday.

Along with performances, the Rip Curl Pro was on the big screen and Feed Me Surf Coast provided meals.

Durrt also took the stage on Saturday night.

TSLSC fundraising co-ordinator Jay Muir said they were thrilled with the community support of the Easter weekend events with much needed funds being raised for the club as the season comes to an end.

“This Easter provided a great fundraising opportunity for our club as we head towards Aussie titles and the quieter winter months.”

Mother Moon Productions and Turner Events joined forces to bring the Dragon Club Series to the event.

Turner Events managing director Sam Turner said there had been a lot of good feedback.

“A lot of people walked away pretty blown away with the level of event that we put on.

“It brought back a bit of the old school Easter, Rip Curl Pro kind of vibe back from around 20 years ago.”

Crowds flocked to the Torquay Surf Life Saving club for their string of Easter Weekend events.

Jenny Moon from Jenny Moon Productions said Jebediah played a solid set.

“They threw in some of their new stuff and then they encored. They came out in the last half of their set and just did a ’90s set with all their best ’90s hits… and just played them one after the other.”

Mr Muir said the atmosphere was “electric” although slightly different each night.

“The Goons of Doom definitely had the crowd pumped and were the perfect band for Good Friday’s Tracks Party, and to host Oz music legends Jebediah on Saturday night and see what their music means to people was a real highlight.”

Sunday night had a heavy focus on local talent.

“Our Sunday evening event had a local’s theme, and it was great to see how much young local talent we have in the Geelong and Surf Coast region,” Mr Muir said.

Ms Moon said Sunday night was a really important event for bands.

“None of those bands, even the established ones, have actually ever played on a larger stage with full production, so the experience they all gained was amazing.”

Plans for next year’s events are currently being made with the goal of coming back bigger and better.
