THE Transport Accident Commissions (TAC) has given out grants to clubs throughout Victoria for their participation in their Towards Zero campaign.

Queenscliff Football Netball Club have been named as one of the recipients of TAC’s Community Grants, and received $5,000 for their efforts in promoting the Towards Zero campaign.

Club president Andrew Conlan said he was “very grateful” to the TAC for the grant.

He said the club was yet to decide where the money would go, but their focus on growing their junior football and netball teams meant they would certainly consider investing the money there

. TAC’s Towards Zero campaign sees the commission work with communities to improve road safety with the aim of there being no serious road accidents.

Queenscliff did a lot of work to help promote the TAC’s cause in the community and across social media.

With TAC’s help, the club also created a video highlighting the importance of the Towards Zero campaign.

Speaking in the video, club captain Jake Hedley said Towards Zero was a vital initiative.

“Any kind of death that is preventable, you’ve just got to do everything in your power to make sure it doesn’t happen.”

The video can be viewed at the Transport Accident Commission Victoria channel on YouTube.
