Quick fix for damaged toilet blocks

April 26, 2023 BY

VANDALISM to two Torquay Foreshore toilet blocks left the facilities unusable for several days, but the costal land manager expects them to reopen in time for Anzac Day crowds.

The Great Ocean Road Cost and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) lamented extensive damage to amenity blocks at the Esplanade and Cosy Corner during the Easter long weekend.

The destruction resulted in the Esplanade block being fully closed and Cosy Corner partially closed for repairs.

GORCAPA indicated it prioritised repairs at Cosy Corner so it could reopen that facility ahead of Torquay’s Anzac Day service at Point Danger on Tuesday.

The Esplanade block, which requires more extensive work, will stay closed for about two weeks.

In the meantime, closest available facilities are at Voss Circuit (400m south-west), Front Beach near Anderson Street (400m north) and Elephant Walk Park (800m north), which has all abilities facilities available.
