POLWARTH Liberal MP Richard Riordan will speak to some of his potential constituents at an event in Torquay next week.

Mr Riordan is the keynote speaker at what Commerce Torquay is describing as a “Breakfast Briefing”, to be held at the RACV Torquay Resort.

The Liberal MP replaced Terry Mulder as the representative for Polwarth in 2015 and presently serves as the the Shadow Minister for Local Government, Shadow Minister for Housing and Shadow Minister for Resources.

According to his Parliamentary biography, Mr Riordan’s vision for Victoria’s future is for the state to be a vibrant state of cities, towns and communities that is well connected to services and infrastructure that enhances life and lifestyle opportunities.

Mr Riordan held his seat at the 2018 state election, but changes to the electoral boundaries since then mean he will have to seek support from a different spread of voters this time.

Finalised in October 2021 but not taking effect until the November 26 poll, an electoral redivision moved Torquay, Jan Juc and Bellbrae out of South Barwon (presently held by Labor’s Darren Cheeseman) and into Polwarth.

The Breakfast Briefing with Richard Riordan will be held at RACV Torquay Resort, 1 Great Ocean Road, Torquay, on September 29 from 7.30-9am.

Tickets are free for Commerce Torquay members and $30 for non-members.
