Rip Curl Community Cup to tee off again

April 4, 2018 BY

The Rip Curl Community Cup will be held on April 13.

THE Rip Curl Community Cup is on again, with the surfing label teeing off in Torquay to support a worthy cause on April 13.

The charity golf event will be held for the third time, and will again feature a golf tournament followed by dinner.

The event is expected to draw a field of about 120 players of all abilities and has the slogan “Lunctis viribus magnum bonum”, which roughly translates as “joined forces for the greater good”.

As well as the action on the fairways, there will be prizes, auctions and raffles galore.

Event sponsors and supporters include Rip Curl, Oakley, Mitre 10, Gboards, Modom, Patagonia, Prada, RACV, The Sands Resort, X-Golf, Lion Nathan, Corey Graham Shapes, and many more.

The cup is run for the benefit of a different cause each year. In 2018, it will raise funds for Bree Walker, her husband Cal and their children Tallow and Lily.

Tickets to golf and dinner are $90 per person, while dinner-only tickets (from 6pm) are $35. Registrations close tomorrow (Friday, April 6).

Registrations and donations can be made by emailing Rip Curl’s Nathan Swan at [email protected].
