ANGLESEA Primary School’s annual fundraiser, the Village Fair, is gearing up to return this Sunday, March 10.

The fair is the school’s main fundraiser for the year, with proceeds from this event to go towards shade cloth to go over a new inclusive playground that will be built over the coming months.

It is expected more than 3,000 people will attend the community event with something on offer for everyone.

Both parents and children will be well entertained with new rides, as well as some old favourites including, the Lions Train, Giant Slide, The Cha Cha, Wild Chairs and more.

Children can also look forward to the animal farm, second-hand toy and book stall, games and lucky dips.

Kids will be well entertained at the Village Fair with a range of activities, including the animal far.

More than 20 local makers and growers will provide market stalls with handcrafted goods, produce, condiments and much more.

“I always like to see the different variety in market stalls that we have, we’ve got everything from food offerings through to coloured braids, through to second hand goods,” parents group member Clare Valentine said.

Gourmet burgers, sausages, bao buns and twisty potatoes will all be on offer, complimented by a range of wine, beer, and cider available at the bar.

Local musicians including Ciao Bella and Duncan Lester will entertain crowds throughout the afternoon, and students will also have their chance to take the main stage with the APS

talent show.

Rides old and new will be on offer at the Village Fair.

Ms Valentine said this year’s raffle had expanded from previous year and has some new prizes up for grabs.

“We’re also running the raffle online this year, previously we just ran it on the day and you had to be there, now people can actually purchase tickets online ahead of the day,” she said.

The school will again focus on sustainably during the fair, with all waste being biodegradable, compostable or recyclable, with the aim of having zero waste going into landfill.

The Village Fair will be held at Anglesea Primary School, 85 Camp Road, Anglesea this Sunday from 3pm to 7pm.
