Get ready for an exciting day of energy, smiles and achievement as the Surf Coast Trek launches the 2km Kids Walk.

Presented by Jenny’s Early Learning Centre, the 2km walk is designed to inspire young walkers to get active, build confidence and have fun, all while giving back to the local community.

The walk is open to children aged 12 years and under.

To be held on Saturday 9 May, the 2km walk is part of the 2026 Surf Coast Trek, with funds raised helping create a stronger, fairer and more inclusive community through the Give Where You Live Foundation and Kids+.

Jenny’s Early Learning Centre community engagement manager, Jess Hourigan, said children thrive when they feel part of their community.

“The 2km Kids Walk gives them the chance to be active, feel proud of what they achieve and learn that even at a young age they can make a positive difference,” she said.

The event will feature a safe and well-marked route beginning at the Torquay Surf Lifesaving Club, fun activities at the finish line and a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Give Where You Live Foundation chief executive Zac Lewis said the Kids Walk is about more than just having fun.

“The Surf Coast Trek 2km Kids Walk encourages children to have fun while learning the importance of giving back and supporting one another,” he said.

“We have had an incredible response from adults for the Surf Coast Trek and we are excited to see children have the same opportunity. Whether they walk, wheel, wobble or sprint, every kid gets to be part of the Surf Coast Trek magic.”

The event will feature a safe and well-marked 2km route beginning at the Torquay Surf Lifesaving Club, fun activities at the finish line, a positive and supportive atmosphere and finisher medals for all participants.

Registration is $20. Head to surfcoasttrek.com.au
