TORQUAY Boardriders Club’s (TBC) third Junior Aggregate for 2021 was completed on Saturday with 64 young athletes competing over 35 heats.

Beautiful weather and small clean waves provided a great opportunity for the groms to show their stuff.

We double-banked from the word go to ensure we were done before the high tide sucked the swell away early afternoon.

The “microgroms” relished their opportunity in the small conditions and we had a few new faces who hit the water, which was great to see. Delilah Chisholm was awarded ‘wave of the day’, Keli’i Le Nevez ‘biggest charger’, Quinn O’Loughlin ‘biggest frother’ and Sam Llewellyn ‘best wipeout’.

Teddy Robertson took out the under 10s throwing down some massive turns throughout the day. Harlem Pec finished in second, Max Murray third and Howie McDiarmid in fourth.

In the Under 12 girls, Macy Maddock and Anise Pruvot enjoyed a two girl final, with Macy taking the win.

The under 12 boys performed strongly all day. TBC newcomer Cove McPhee took the win over his good mate Charlie Chisholm, Ned Murray finished in third and Tully Gordon in fourth.

The under 14 girls shared some good battles throughout the day. Sara Hickson showed her versatility by riding a twin fin to victory over Dune Pruvot in second, Anna Huppatz in third and Cedar Davie in fourth.

The under 14 boys was hotly contested with Cooper Lens sticking to his strength of strong rail surfing to gain the win over Remy Filer in second, Jack Lindsay in third and Jarrah Bakaitis in fourth.

The Rip Curl Most Outstanding award went to Cove McPhee and Dune Pruvot won the Rojo ‘Bells Angel’ award.

Cove and Charlie.

With thanks to our amazing sponsors, we were able to hand out some additional prizes – Sam Abetz ‘biggest frother’, Tully Gordon ‘best wipeout’, Ned Murray ‘biggest charger’ and Charlie Chisholm ‘wave of the day’.

A massive thank you to everyone that made the day possible. All the TBC juniors would like to wish their mums a very happy Mother’s Day on Sunday and we’ll see you all for the next Junior Agg on June 5.

Don’t forget to support TBC who will compete on the national stage at the Nudie Australian Boardriders Battle on May 15 and 16. This event will be broadcast live on FoxSports.
