Tour de Heads French for fun

February 12, 2016 BY

VILLAWOOD Properties kicked off 2016 with a French-inspired party for its Armstrong builders, community and media partners at iconic waterfront Barwon Heads venue At the Heads.

The Parisien theme tied in beautifully with Villawood’s signature colours or red, white and room and particularly with the guest of honour, local hero and 2011 Tour de France winner Cadel Evans.

The cycling legend was also celebrating a another successful Great Ocean Road Race the previous weekend.

Guests, including Minister for Sport John Eren, deputy Geelong mayor Bruce Harwood and councillor Roger Grant, as well as representatives from Committee for Geelong and many other of Geelong’s industry and community leaders, were treated to an intimate Q&A session with the now retired cycling legend, led by Villawood’s resident cycling expert general manager of development, Phil Hanna.

Head of K Rock football Ben Casanelia was MC for the evening, with addresses by Cadel, Minister Eren and Villawood Properties executive director Rory Costelloe; the trio recently enjoyed an Australia Day ride through the region.

With berets, baguettes and moustaches aplenty, entertainment included an accordion player, a Jordan Woolfe from JG King Homes took out the best-dressed gong and a bottle of the best French champagne, arriving as a French maid complete with wig and feather duster.

Villawood properties is gearing up for a huge 2016 with the launch of nine different communities across Australia’s east coast, including a community in Wandana Heights in Geelong.
