Work life balance for parents at Torquay College

March 20, 2019 BY

Torquay College is offering a second autumn holiday program to families struggling to balance work commitments over the Easter break.

IN a bid to create work life balance for parents of children at Torquay College, the school has announced it will continue to use local before and after care provider “TheirCare” for a second autumn holiday program, with another three scheduled for later this year.

TheirCare’s Steve Baldock said the program was developed in partnership with Torquay College principal Adrian Waters to support families who were finding it difficult to balance the school holiday period with their day to day work schedules.

“For the families that utilise this service it means not having to stress over taking time off from work every holiday period and peace of mind knowing that their children are well looked after and engaged throughout the day in amazing activities,” he said.

“From the school’s perspective it means being able to support the families that support the school; and for the children it means enjoying the holiday break and not being stuck at home for two weeks.”

Children can expect to participate in a range of fun activities from robot building to treasure hunts.

Fresh food is provided in the afternoon.

The program is government subsidised through the CCS rebate (Centrelink), with the average out of pocket expenses varying from $8.89 through to $14.74 for a day of full activities between 7am and 6.15pm.
