Construction begins on 420-lot Colac estate

Construction has started on a development in Elliminyt that will bring much-needed housing to the Colac region.

Once complete, The Lookout will deliver about 420 residential lots, making it one of the largest new estates in the Colac region.

The development by TW Projects will increase housing supply while delivering essential infrastructure, support local employment during construction and contribute to the continued growth of Elliminyt and the wider Colac area.

It will feature two neighbourhood parks and a landscaped green link, providing open space, recreation opportunities and pedestrian connections for residents and the wider community.

The master-planned development has been designed to incorporate connected open spaces, walkable neighbourhood links and quality landscaping.

Water-sensitive urban design will be implemented to ensure all stormwater collected on the development is treated to best practice.

The estate is about five minutes’ drive from Colac’s CBD and is close to Elliminyt Primary School, Colac Secondary College, Trinity College Colac and other local education facilities.

A sod-turning ceremony took place at The Lookout today to mark the start of civil works.

TW Projects director Albert Weddell said it was an important milestone.

Core Projects estate manager Steve Mengazzo said the start of works was an important step in delivering more housing opportunities for the region.

The Lookout will be sold in 16 stages, with stage one lots now on sale.
