McCartney Real Estate is continuing its red-hot run with another Old Torquay property falling under the hammer and smashing through the reserve price by over $300,000.

With a crowd of more than 80 people looking on, bidding for 34 Darian Road, Torquay, started at $1,050,000 and quickly surpassed the reserve price of $1,150,000 with six active bidders placing 33 bids until the hammer fell at $1,455,000 seeing a Torquay local acquire the property.

McCartney director Tim Carson said with over 70 inspections throughout the campaign, Torquay continues to be a drawcard to local and non-resident buyers.

“This very successful auction continues to show the strength of the Torquay market with the people interested coming from a mix of locals, the Ballarat and Bendigo area along with Melbourne,” Mr Carson said.

“We also had interest from overseas, with many potential buyers looking to use the property as a holiday home or to redevelop and build their dream family home on the property.

“If you are considering selling, the time is now, please give McCartney Real Estate a call today as we have many buyers who have missed out still looking to secure a Torquay property

“For those still looking we have some great Torquay properties coming to auction soon.

“We have 69 Grandview Road and 33 Aurora Crescent both being auctioned on Saturday 20th November, along with 55 Fischer Street coming up on Saturday 4th December.”
