Bisinella’s solar rebate supports lifestyle switch

Bisinella director Richard Bisinella with Jami and Simon Robinson and their three young daughters get into some backyard cricket fun.

Backyard fun, trips to the park and summer days at the beach – Simon and Jami Robinson are reaping the rewards of making the lifestyle switch from Melbourne to Lara, with their young family.

The past 12 months has been a whirlwind for the Robinsons after they secured a much sought-after lot in Bisinella’s Apple Gum’s Estate in October 2020.

The couple started building straight away and in September 2021 they got the keys to their three-bedroom home.

The lure of the coast, proximity to family and the chance to get away from the busyness of Melbourne were all contributing factors to their decision to relocate down the highway.

Since making the move, the couple has been enjoying their new home and community and exploring the region with their three young daughters, Ellie, 4, Milla, 2 and Olivia, six months.

“It’s fantastic – we are really happy, Lara ticks all the boxes for us,” Mr Robinson explained.“We wanted to live somewhere with a smaller town feel but still close to everything, we are rapt to have our own space.

“Having such a young family we were keen to get away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.

“We chose Lara because we are close to family in Geelong and the beaches but are still on the right side of Geelong so I can get to work in Melbourne easily.

“If we go the other way, in 35 minutes we are in Barwon Heads, Torquay, Anglesea – it’s amazing.

“We utilise the beach a lot with the young girls and the You Yangs are close by too.”

Mr Robinson said the family was also embracing their community and enjoying meeting other families.

“All of the facilities that we need are here, I’ve been working in Sydney, and I can fly straight into Avalon which is only about 12 minutes from our house.”

The Robinsons recently had a solar system installed on their roof – becoming the first household to take advantage of Bisinella’s $1000 solar panel rebate.

Bisinella is offering the rebate to buyers who purchase a lot in relevant Bisinella estates and install solar panels within three months of construction completion (conditions apply). The couple said their decision to go solar was inspired by environmental factors but mainly the opportunity to reduce their energy costs.

“As we are a single income household at the moment, we are trying to minimise our expenses wherever we can,” Mr Robinson said.

“The Bisinella rebate was the tipping point for us going ahead with solar, without this initiative, solar simply wouldn’t have been affordable for us.

“The rebate means we will be able to pay off the solar system a lot quicker, reduce our expenses and not be so reliant on the power supply.”

The initiative is available for other landowners who have bought in the sold-out Apple Gum Estate as well as Wattle Grove Estate, Corio and meet the rebate conditions.

The solar rebate is also available for buyers of land in Stage 4 of Seaside Estate and 3B and 5 of Lara Lakes Estate, which is due to be released in early 2022.

Bisinella director Richard Bisinella said he was delighted the Robinsons were getting so much enjoyment out of their new home and being part of the wider Lara community.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to assist Simon and Jami and their young family to make the switch to solar power.

“Solar panels enable households to drastically reduce their energy consumption. Making the change to solar can ultimately help homeowners save a lot of money on their power bills,” Mr Bisinella said.

“It’s also a much sustainable way to power your home which is likely to minimise the effects of climate change.”
