Community key to good developments

February 15, 2018 BY

HOW developers help build communities rather than just new estates is a critical factor in decision-making by new home buyers.

Making friends, good social interactions and support from neighbours are very important for people with young families. Parents naturally want their children to grow up in a healthy and positive environment.

The rapidly-growing Armstrong Creek precinct has seen many new community groups start in the past couple of years.

Some are formal, some are less formal – but all offer important links for friendship, connections and pursuing similar interests.

At Armstrong Mount Duneed, we’ve built sports grounds to accommodate football, cricket, soccer and other sports to help these families build networks while pursuing healthy activities.

These are travelling really well, with junior players throwing themselves into the fray in different codes and seniors such as the Grovedale Football Netball Club extending their reach into our new young community.

The new Armstrong United soccer team will be kicking off this season, marking a great milestone in the community’s growth.

Our major community facility, Club Armstrong, remains instrumental in bringing people together, with its swimming pools and gymnasium, its parents club, men’s club, photography club, book club, meeting rooms and more.

Its 9 Grams café is an invaluable social hub, as is the large adventure playground next door. Armstrong has upmarket retail outlets on the way, too, which will have a lakeside waterfront aspect and are sure to bring more people together.

The value of many kilometres of creekside tracks through the area can’t be understated either for people walking, riding, jogging together through our beautiful environment.

Villawood has maintained strong sponsorship ties with all manner of groups across the region to further bolster this community development. Think the Geelong Cats, Geelong Cougars, the Torquay Surf Lifesaving Club and the Grovedale Tigers – but that’s just for starters.

Under our community grants program, we partner with several different groups and work with them to continue to build happy, healthy, active and vibrant communities within our great region.

Check our Armstrong Mt Duneed Facebook page and armstrong.villawoodproperties.com.au to keep track of how our community is growing and just what’s going on.

There’s always something going on.
